The U.S. Navy's Office of Naval Research (ONR) has provided AMSC with more than $90 million to design and build the world's first 36.5 MW (49,000 horsepower) HTS motor. On March 28, 2007 AMSC, and our partner on this motor Northrop Grumman, announced the successful completion of factory acceptance testing for this motor.
