AMSC Employee Benefits

This list is intended as a guideline to the benefits at AMSC. AMSC retains the right to change these benefits at any time. Unless otherwise noted, coverage is for all MA and WI locations.

Group Medical Plans


Carrier: Blue Cross Blue Shield (for MA locations)

Within Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, an employee has a choice of two plans; HMO Blue or Blue Care Elect (PPO). Eligible employees may enroll on date of hire and annually on January 1.

Carrier: Unity Health Plans (for Middleton, WI location)

Within Unity Health Plan, an employee has a choice of two plans, an HMO or a POS. Eligible employees may enroll from the date of hire up to 30 days following and annually on January 1.

For full-time regular Milwaukee-based positions, AMSC offers comprehensive coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield (Blue Care Elect).

Group Dental Plan


Carrier: Delta Dental Plan


Eligible employees may enroll in the dental plan on date of hire and annually on January 1.
Maximum coverage is $2,000/year for each family member with a $1,500 lifetime maximum for orthodontia per child (up to age 19). There are three levels of coverage within the plan; Preventative - 100% coverage, Basic Restorative- 80% coverage and Major Restorative - 50% coverage. Deductibles apply to Basic and Major Restorative Coverage.

Life & Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance


Carrier: Unum Provident


Coverage is company-paid and benefit equals two times base salary, subject to certain limits.
Accidental death and dismemberment insurance is also provided.

Supplemental and Dependant Life & Accidental Death and Dismemberment


Carrier: Unum Provident


Supplemental Life and AD&D Insurance is offered for eligible employees, spouses and dependent children at group rates.

Long Term Care Insurance


Carrier: CNA


Long-term care insurance is offered to eligible employees, their spouses, parents and grandparents. Some premiums may be paid through payroll deductions.


401(k) Plan

 

Administrator: John Hancock Financial



AMSC sponsors a 401(k) plan administered by John Hancock Financial with a match in company stock. The plan includes over 60 investment options. Eligible employees may enroll in the 401(k) plan on their date of hire as well as on a quarterly basis.

ESPP - Employee Stock Purchase Plan


All regular employees who are employed on the first day of the Plan Period are eligible to participate on the AMSC Employee Stock Purchase Plan. The plan is designed to give employees the opportunity to purchase shares of AMSC's common stock through payroll deductions at a 15% discount.


Illness Pay


All employees are eligible for salary continuation for illness.

Short and Long Term Disablity


Carrier: Unum Provident

Short and long term disability coverage are offered to eligible employees. These benefits are company paid.

Vacation


Employees are eligible for vacation consistent with corporate policy, which provides three weeks of vacation per year. Vacation is prorated whenever the employee does not complete a full calendar year of service.

Tuition Reimbursement


After three months of service, employees are eligible for $5,250 per calendar year toward certain educational expenses for courses that are position or industry related. Classes must be taken at an accredited school or university. Reimbursement will be made after the completion of a class as long as the employee receives a grade of "C" or better for undergraduate work and a "B" or better for graduate level work.

Holidays


AMSC offers 10 paid holidays per year. Typically those days include New Years Day, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, and Christmas with two additional floating holidays. On some occasions, AMSC may designate one or both of those floating holidays. Employees starting mid-year will receive a prorated benefit.

Flexible Spending Plan & LTD Chargeback Program


Employees may allot pretax dollars to cover medical expenses not typically covered by health insurance (deductibles, copayments other non-reimbursed medical/dental expenses) or certain dependent care expenses.

LTD Chargeback allows payment of taxes on the premium for the Long-Term Disability benefit.

Employee Assistance Program


Our employee assistance program provides employer-paid, confidential assessment and referral services to employees and their families.

Direct Deposit


Direct deposit is available for employees to have their payroll checks automatically deposited in their bank accounts.

Wholesale Club Memberships


Employees may purchase memberships to local wholesale clubs at discounted rates.
